[Guide] [Superb/Legendary Bosses] [Mar/2021] [Yeon Du, Akimelia, Schwartz, Mediel, Niro]™
This guide serves to tell new, beginning players which superb bosses that new players must aim for.
Because there are 5 superb bosses in one rotation and new players might not be able to get all of them.
Old players should aim for the bosses that you do not yet have.
Strategies & tips will also be shared below.
Tiers of the Legendary Bosses of this rotation will be discussed.
Finally, a brief walkthrough of the superb boss matches will be explained.
Tips:
Superb Boss Tier & Difficulty
This round of superb bosses is one of the harder rotations, due to the higher requirements of legends and LUQ to clear the boss at 0% enervation. (All videos below are cleared at 0% enervation)
We will discuss this in details below, in the boss by boss walkthrough.
Tier Explanation:
^Match Difficulty will be explained below in the walk-through with the possible strategies.
Boss by Boss Walkthrough & Tips for Clearing
Yeon Du
Probably one of the easier superb bosses for this rotation because it can be done without any legend (as shown in the video below).
All you need to do is to:
Tips:
If you observe the stats of enemy players in game, you will find that in the enemy backline:
This means that:
White Gardenia gives 100% DR to the line when attacked which will help to defend against Chundo's high attack power.
However, Chundo has penetration power which means some of the damage will still go through UNLESS:
*Hence, there are many options available.
Ideally, you don't want to use Duran because as we mentioned before, your frontline should be fast (1) to avoid Chundo steal and (2) to be able to steal efficiently from enemy backline.
Question: Can you do this without WG?
Answer: The answer is yes. There are players with high enough DR and you can give them HP drain stones and penetration resistance and they can also tank Chundo. Examples are Beth, Duke, etc.
Question: Can you do this without penetration resistance stones equipped?
Answer: The answer is yes. As you can see in the video, the friend WG does not have any penetration resistance stone equipped. That is why the WG is taking damage and almost died but it was still sufficient to clear the boss before she died. However, do note that there is Libeaus in the formation which gives WG 10% penetration resistance. If you give WG more penetration resistance or debuff Chundo penetration power, WG will eventually take 1 damage only and that is the best case scenario.
Question: Do you need Jeunese?
Answer: If you don't have enough damage, jeunese is helpful to take 25% HP off the boss (which is a lot) but jeunese is not a MUST. As you can see from the video, Lucid can take down the goalkeeper without jeunese. However, jeunese is also helpful because of the quick start which provides action bar boost to reduce the chances of enemy Chundo stealing from your frontline players.
Akimelia
If you have the right goalkeeper (Lime or Raphaela), Akimelia can be done relatively easily.
The difficult part is to survive because besides taking damage from enemy striker, Shanti, your goalkeeper has to penetrate enemy centre forwards (this will be explained below) which deals a lot of reflective damage as well.
Recommended backline penetrator for this superb boss match -
Video below is an example of Mono Ardor clearing Akimelia superb boss match without any legends used.
Strategy & Tips:
The strategy for Akimelia is very simple.
*The catch is that, once any of your player does a pass, all these debuffs that enemy goalkeeper casted on himself will be removed.
You can observe from the video, the consequence of passing which was shown. Our clubmate recording the video probably made a mistake in the execution and all the debuffs were reset as a result.
Hence, this is actually a very simple match.
This match is rated medium difficulty because if you don't have Raphaela or Lime, it's very hard to win as other goalkeeper cannot really survive well here.
Otherwise, it should be quite easily done.
Schwartz
This match can be done very easily if you have Raphaela. Some people have done it with Presty as well but Raphaela is still preferred.
This is because Raphaela doesn't have any issues surviving here. I remember using an uninvested 0 superboost Raphaela for Schwartz when it was first released and successfully cleared at 0% enervation.
And once you don't have any issues surviving enemy striker damage, the focus will be to OHKO the enemy goalkeeper after enemy Dane and Schwartz cast their active (usually after 15th minute of the match but can take longer).
Raphaela is the only legend used in the video below to clear Schwartz.
Strategy & Tips:
At the beginning of the match, all your actives are locked and enemy striker begin to decrease your goalkeeper recovery effects up to 100% (meaning your GK cannot heal eventually).
Raphaela passive bypasses this recovery effect debuff, which means that as long as Raphaela doesn't get OHKO, she can heal back to full HP and survive easily.
So now that survival is assured, next will be to OHKO enemy goalkeeper.
*Because enemy GK has a passive that heals himself whenever ANY enemy player receives critical damage. So now everyone in enemy team has 895% critical resistance, enemy team won't get critted anymore so enemy GK receives no heal.
This also means that we cannot crit enemy GK and have to kill via raw damage.
If you observe from the video, the damage required is high and some people would use Serestia to lower the GK hp first before trying to OHKO.
Hence, your striker must at least be able to do 15,000 damage if you are using the Serestia method.
If you are using the OHKO method, your striker needs to do ~37,000 damage based on the video or ~20,000 damage if going for 2HKO.
That's about it. The 2 main strategies are:
The medium difficulty of this boss lies in 2 parts, first is the legendary GK requirement, 2nd is the damage for 2HKO or OHKO.
Mediel
To be honest, I am not familiar with the mechanics of this superb boss.
Looking at the match forum, everyone says that this superb boss match is not doable via the normal way (I do not know why) and OHKO is the way to go.
Hence, all these while, I've only used OHKO for this boss and if damage is not enough, use enervation.
But yes, it is possible to OHKO this boss at 0% enervation as shown in the video below.
Here, I will only discuss the main tips related to OHKO strategy.
Strategy & Tips:
Basically most people use either frontline OHKO or long shoot OHKO.
Long shoot OHKO is preferred because there is an enemy player in mid that buffs your long shooter penetration power.
But you can try both. Regardless of whether if you decide on front or mid long shoot OHKO, there are two steps to follow.
Step 1: Get the ball
Step 2: Setup the ball for OHKO
Enemy mid almost always move first. This means that if you start with the ball, enemy mid will steal and your CM (centre midfielder) will die to the steal.
Hence, we have 3 options.
From my experience, enemy mid almost always move first at 0% enervation and I never managed to have a CM that can tank the steal (although the new WW player, Remyuken, might be able to do it) at 0% enervation.
However, you might be able to move first or have a CM that can tank the steal at higher enervation, like >20% enervation.
^After your mid CA enemy player, your mid players need to be the next to move and active pass.
^Enemy mid has a player that buffs our ally team players RPE (receiving pass effect) when any of our mid player takes an action, up to 4 times.
Hence, you want your mid to take as many actions as possible to max out the RPE buff from enemy team that we can get.
In the video, it was Jibril > Thor > Melissa, a total of 3 actions, and a 75% RPE buff was given to the long shooter, Sephirot to help to OHKO.
^Spirit generation is important so that we have enough spirit to do active passes and hence, Jibril and Nikita are used.
So after we get the ball, set the ball up for OHKO. If damage is insufficient, enervate for victory!
Niro
This is one of the toughest superb boss around if you do not get the strategy right.
Because Raphaela cannot steal much HP from Niro frontline in this match.
So, even Raphaela can die pretty easily.
The video below is recorded at 0% enervation, showcasing the right strategy to execute in this match.
There are 2 main aspects in this strategy to beat the boss.
First, how to survive?
Second, how to kill enemy GK?
Tips:
Penetrate with your GK to hold the ball when:
Recommended Backline Penetrator is Shu.
Question: Is Aiolos necessary?
Answer: Maybe but most likely no. Aiolos is still good for heals, reduces the chances of 1v1 and provides critical resistance totem.
Tips:
- Never give up.
Use enervation if you are unable to beat the boss at 0% enervation
Enervation is a drop of 5% enemy team stats for every 10 match losses.
This means that 200 match losses = whole of enemy team has 1 HP
Use ST reduction managers to spam losses quick through restart.
25 ST per match = 5000 ST = sure to obtain the superb boss - Enervation rolls over to the next time when the same boss appears.
- Use R coins to buy ST from coin shop if necessary.
- Yeon Du, one of my favorite global buffer in PvE which gives 60% global attack power buff totem, 30% global action speed buff and global 15% additional damage buff.
However, she is more rarely used in PvP due to her 20% spirit consumption debuff on the ally team except for front lock or mid wall strategy formations. - Akimelia, mostly used in front lock PvP teams as a tanky and high damage stealer, with high self HP recovery, defender AI, spirit drain and her intercept active.
In PvE, she is mostly used for her spirit drain and also intercept but is outshined by Pinol which is why she is rarely used in PvE as well. - Schwartz, designed to be a backliner that massacres the enemy frontline, on penetration, by giving them 50% coop activation chance.
However, he is almost unused by most players because of global revive totem such as Dalgi, Felix. - Mediel, has a weird design as a player that has a line totem of HP + Pass Effect, line totem shield active, 50% global (light players only) attack power buff.
Some people say that she is designed for the frontline while some say that she is designed for the backline.
In the end, she is not used by anyone. I'd say she is designed for the bench. - Like mediel and schwartz, Niro is also almost unused in PvP and PvE.
Her spirit consumption debuff is specific to assistors and strikers (compared to Hwarin which is non-specific) and sleep active is also very common which many cards have.
- CA (counterattack using reflexes) enemy CM (centre midfielder) at the start of the match, get the ball to front and shoot
*Ball is not supposed to get to your backline throughout the match - Lock the ball in enemy backline, steal the ball back, shoot again repeat until enemy goalkeeper is dead.
*check the tips below the video
Tips:
If you observe the stats of enemy players in game, you will find that in the enemy backline:
- Chundo and the goalkeeper have very high attack power.
- The other minions, they have only 1 attack power (both dribble & steal).
This means that:
- We can only steal from the minions and not from Chundo nor the goalkeeper in enemy backline.
- Enemy Chundo can steal from our frontline and kill our frontline so we must be careful of that
If you successfully CA and steal from enemy backline, do not rush to pass the ball to your striker to shoot
Look at whether if your striker will shoot before Chundo gets a turn to steal.
This is also the reason why action speed is one key consideration for your frontline so that you can shoot with ease, without fear that Chundo will steal from your frontline.
This is also probably the reason why Lucid was chosen for her high speed, high damage and also for her beautiful artwork. - We need to prevent Chundo from penetrating out of the enemy backline.
Only Chundo is capable of doing that.
White Gardenia gives 100% DR to the line when attacked which will help to defend against Chundo's high attack power.
However, Chundo has penetration power which means some of the damage will still go through UNLESS:
- You give penetration resistance to the centre forward (CF), etc. WG
This can be acheived through global penetration resistance buff totem such as Libeaus (light only) or Shabu (dark only) or Erica (ardor only)
OR
through spirit stones (Dense Magma & its legendary sub or philsopher stone etc) - You debuff Chundo penetration power
This can be achieved through players such as Duran etc.
OR
through spirit stones (Subordinate Trust & its legendary sub)
*Hence, there are many options available.
Ideally, you don't want to use Duran because as we mentioned before, your frontline should be fast (1) to avoid Chundo steal and (2) to be able to steal efficiently from enemy backline.
Question: Can you do this without WG?
Answer: The answer is yes. There are players with high enough DR and you can give them HP drain stones and penetration resistance and they can also tank Chundo. Examples are Beth, Duke, etc.

The difficult part is to survive because besides taking damage from enemy striker, Shanti, your goalkeeper has to penetrate enemy centre forwards (this will be explained below) which deals a lot of reflective damage as well.
- Your goalkeeper should be of the critical resistance stone build.
Recommended backline penetrator for this superb boss match -
- Shu, Loki, Rudiel, Khirel, Linco Liyen, basically players that can steal attack power from enemy team
Video below is an example of Mono Ardor clearing Akimelia superb boss match without any legends used.
Strategy & Tips:
The strategy for Akimelia is very simple.
- Enemy goalkeeper has extremely high DR, penetration resistance, critical resistance.
- Everytime you shoot at enemy goalkeeper, he will cast his active and debuff himself and eventually, all those stats will drop to very low (negative crit resist, 0% penetration resistance and ~5% DR) as shown in the spoiler below (screengrab from the video).
Stats of enemy goalkeeper, Kai, at max debuffed state.
*The catch is that, once any of your player does a pass, all these debuffs that enemy goalkeeper casted on himself will be removed.
Hence, passing the ball is strictly NOT ALLOWED in this match.
You can observe from the video, the consequence of passing which was shown. Our clubmate recording the video probably made a mistake in the execution and all the debuffs were reset as a result.
Hence, this is actually a very simple match.
- Survive (always penetrate with GK, don't pass), keep shooting, and win.
- Both enemy Dane and Schwartz will cast their active after 15th minute (sometimes 17th, sometimes 18th).
- Dane active will give the whole enemy team 895% critical resistance which prevents enemy GK from healing while Schwartz active will allow your assist and striker to use their actives while leader roles' actives are still sealed.
Enemy GK has negative DR so RPE (receiving pass effect) and DI (damage increase) stone builds, to maximise raw damage, are the best against him
- From my experience, Serestia can lower enemy GK hp to around ~10,000 HP
- It won't go lower after that because enemy GK has some forms of heals that negates Serestia HP damage at ~10,000 HP.
Hence, your striker must at least be able to do 15,000 damage if you are using the Serestia method.
If you are using the OHKO method, your striker needs to do ~37,000 damage based on the video or ~20,000 damage if going for 2HKO.
That's about it. The 2 main strategies are:
- Survive and OHKO or 2HKO.
OR - Survive, use Serestia to lower enemy GK hp and OHKO.
- Either you move first
OR you have a CM that can tank the steal
OR you let enemy mid start with the ball and you CA to get the ball. *Recommended option for 0% enervation clear
This can be done with an IC mid player with fast action stones, preferably an assist.
^Enemy mid has a player that buffs our ally team players RPE (receiving pass effect) when any of our mid player takes an action, up to 4 times.
Hence, you want your mid to take as many actions as possible to max out the RPE buff from enemy team that we can get.

- You need to run a critical resistance GK build so that enemy Gren is unable to crit your GK.
Else the damage is enormous and your GK will die.
Second, how to kill enemy GK?
- A lot of people try to prevent the sleep on ally team (sleep debuff on whole ally team whenever an ally receives a critical hit) but this sleep debuff is actually to help us win.
Because enemy backline will penetrate to our backline after shot and surely one of our ally player will receive critical hit and the whole ally team will be asleep.
Hence, trying to prevent the sleep debuff is useless and as mentioned earlier, the sleep debuff is there to help us win.
This helps us win because our whole team AB remains stagnant when asleep so when our GK is shot at, the backline penetrator (Shu, in the case of the video) will always receive the ball from our GK and enemy will steal and die to the backline penetrator.
The backline penetrator gets a free turn and moves to the front, and shoot again.
Rinse and repeat 6~7 times and enemy GK is dead, at 0% enervation, and we win. - Hence, what we need is a line breaker / penetrator that will shoot enemy GK (Ogre) with 80% AB recovery (Kevin provides quick start) everytime after he shoots.
- Get enough critical resistance on our GK, 80% AB recovery backline penetrator and win.
Tips:
Penetrate with your GK to hold the ball when:
- Shot at, the first time (as shown in the video)
- Your backline penetrator is dead due to enemy CA
Recommended Backline Penetrator is Shu.
- Because Shu can heal your GK.
- This can also be done with Duke (deals more damage and requires less shots) or other strong backline penetrator as you wish.
The key is the 80% AB recovery such that your backline penetrator will always receive the ball from your GK after enemy shot
Question: Is Aiolos necessary?
Answer: Maybe but most likely no. Aiolos is still good for heals, reduces the chances of 1v1 and provides critical resistance totem.
