[Guide] Counterattack Resistance and Reflex Mechanics™ Soccer Spirits
(Updated 7th October 2016)
This guide is mainly to teach you how to determine & calculate the probability of counterattack.
I will also explain the basic concepts of reflex & counter attack resistance.
All the data found in this guide are mined from the game data.
7 Oct' 16:
(1) Counterattack (CA) CAP is reduced from 65% to 50%. Relevant guide info updated.
(2) Reflex equation changed such that it scales with level of card now
Patch Notes: soccerspirits.freeforums.net/thread/490/29th-september-legend-patch-notes
The Basics
Base Reflex = ((5 + Technique + (Speed / 12)) / 4 / (Level + 30)) * 1000 *Outdated. Waiting for new Equation
Some people might find that your players' base reflex drop as their level increase from 1 > max level.
This result is due to the above equation.
Base reflex is obtained from your total stats.
Total Reflex = Base Reflex X (% Buff from Passive Skills + In-Line Totems + Stones + Stones Substats)
Unlike reflex, there is no base counterattack resistance.
Total Counterattack Resistance = Passive Skills + In-Line Totems + Stones + Stone Substats + Player Role
Counterattack Resistance is simply obtained from the following, added up.
99% of stones dont have CA resistance substats. Only some old stones have.
Hence, do not be surprised if you cannot find CA resistance substat on your stones.
The Mechanics
How does counterattack work?
Every 10 points of reflex stat that a player has over another, will give him an extra 1% chance to counterattack the player holding the ball.
This is up to a CAP of 50% chance to counterattack another player.
The opposite is also true. Enemy player also has a 50% chance CAP to counterattack your player.
So based on the above diagram, against a 1000 reflex enemy, anything above 1500 reflex will not increase the chance of counterattack.
Therefore, the maximum amount of reflex that you need to have over your enemy is 500.
Anything more will not count towards the chance of counterattack.
How will Counterattack Resistance work?
Final Probability of Counterattacking after factoring in CA resistance is determined by:
Before March 2016 Major Patch:
No CAP for CA resistance
>100% CA resist will prevent counterattack at a 100% chance.
After March 2016 Major Patch
CA resistance is capped at 90%. Any amount of CA resistance beyond 90% will be considered 90%.
So counterattack can not be prevented fully by CA resistance.
As long as enemy has higher reflexes than you, you have a chance of being counterattacked even if you have more than 90% CA resistance.
#Example 1 (Enemy has 25% chance to counterattack you at 0% CA resistance when they have 250 reflexes more)
Conclusion
Reflexes is now the better option since counterattack resistance cannot prevent counterattack at a 100% chance.
Compared to previously where the chance to counterattack is CAPPED at 65%, now reflexes are still valued highly because of the reasonably high chances to counterattack.

How does counterattack work?
- Counterattack means to take the ball away from enemy player if your player has higher reflexes.
You cannot counterattack enemy player if your player has lower or same reflexes.
Enemy player may or may not be killed in the process. - When your player is being penetrated by enemy player, he/she has a chance to counterattack him if he/she has higher reflexes.
If the counterattack is successful, your player will hold the ball until it is his turn.
Your player does not get an extra turn right away. - When it is your player's turn, he/she steals from the player holding the ball.
If your player has higher reflexes, there is a chance to counterattack the enemy player holding the ball.
If the counterattack is successful, your player will get an extra turn right away.
He or she can then penetrate, shoot or pass the ball away immediately, whichever it shall be.
Every 10 points of reflex stat that a player has over another, will give him an extra 1% chance to counterattack the player holding the ball.
This is up to a CAP of 50% chance to counterattack another player.
