Discussion regarding the Recent Bigball "Balancing" Moves™
There has been much outrage among players regarding Bigball's balancing moves.
Lets have a quick look at the recent 'Balancing' moves that Bigball made & the reactions among players.
Also, lets see how all these balancing moves affect the general strategies employed by players in SS.
Lastly, we will compare the recent balancing pace as compared to previously.
The latest Bigball "Balancing" Moves:
An Overlook at the Current SS Game Strategies relative to Bigball Balancing Moves:
With the current Balancing moves by Bigball, cheese strategy and infinite strategy are being killed off.
Many players are starting to feel that they are being pushed to use OHKO strategy as that is becoming the only viable option eventually.
The variety, the biodiversity of SS strategies to clear matches, is being reduced.
The community is starting to feel that SS is increasingly becoming a, either you spend to have super strong players to OHKO the matches or you cannot clear it.
This is definitely not a healthy situation for SS.
Comparing Current Balancing Pace to Previous Balancing Pace:
Last time, it usually takes up to months before an OP player gets nerfed.
When the nerf/balancing comes slow, more and more people start building these OP players and that translates to income for Bigball.
Now, Bigball reacts responsively to community calls.
There are MAJOR game-changing "Balancing" moves almost every patch.
Before you can invest in anything, you are afraid that it might be nerfed in the next patch.
And it might even be a 'mechanics' nerf and you dont get any recall LOL.
Was it 'better' in the past OR is it better now?
To be honest, I aint exactly sure myself.
Now, you can invest in something and it gets nerfed in the next patch.
Every buff/nerf is game-changing and you might not even get a recall option if its a mechanics nerf.
Sticking to OHKO might be the best option now.

The latest Bigball "Balancing" Moves:
- Cheese Nerf (Ravian, Jeunese etc.)
Some rejoice, some are upset regarding Ravian nerf.
Some felt that the nerf was too big.
Jeunese, Jury nerf signalled the beginning of the end for the cheese strategy (% HP damage)
This was known as a 'Mechanics' nerf and no recall was given. LOL but ok. - PvP AI Mechanics Change
There are 2 main consequences of this move.
Leader/Defender AI became more suicidal in nature.
Leader/Defender AI no longer pass when facing 2 man; they penetrate/steal when not red HP against 1 or 2 man & suicides.
Passing around cheese frontline strategy also no longer works.
So this basically killed off the PvP cheese frontline strategy - William Buff
Soon after ravian nerf, came the William buff.
This generated a huge outrage throughout the SS community.
Before the buff, everyone was lamenting that William is not befitting of his legend status, compared to Sharr.
After the buff, everyone was complaining that William became overly strong;
This is despite the fact that William gained 30% penetration power & 50% critical rate while holding the ball. - Goalkeepers Buff
Shortly after William buff, developers brought about this GK buff.
Was it a balancing act to mitigate the effects of William buff? No one knows.
Maybe it was planned a long time before.
William OP-ness was short-lived; no longer able to OHKO most GK when Magnus/Patricia is around.
Many people switched to Zibroi after his 40% HP buff to counter William. - Next came the "Quick Start" nerf.
There has been many speculations to the cause of this nerf.
Some said that it is to nerf Miho and Milky Way for PvP reasons.
Some said that it is to nerf Hildegard for her action bar steal to make CoT harder.
There was not much reaction throughout the SS community regarding this.
Probably because many were happy that Miho/Milky Way were indirectly nerfed.
