With the new recall system, many players who possess Nerua are facing this dilemma on whether if they should recall Nerua.
Feel free to throw in your insights.
What has Nerua been used for?
Counterattack Resistance + Critical Resistance + HP totem in backline
Decrease incoming damage from WW and Light Players
First, lets take a look at how Nerua was nerfed?
Nerua (Evolved)
Before Nerf:
Oath: Increase the HP and defense by 20% within the position
After Nerf:
Oath: Increase the HP and defense by 20% of Thunder players only within the position
As you may observe, Nerua is nerfed in her evolved state only.
Hence, people who already have Nerua in her extreme evolved state are not affected by the nerf.
This seems like a small, simple HP totem nerf to nerua but it has a lot of implications.
We will look at it 1 by 1 below.
So, is Nerua still going to be Usable or Important after nerf?
Implication #1, Counterattack Resistance Totem
Nerua is still an important and irreplaceable piece in a Counterattack (CA) Resist backline.
Because the commonly used CA resist totems available now are Anael (25%), Yuri (30%), Nerua (30%)
So if you are building a CA resist backline, you will still need Nerua.
Implication #2, Indirect Nerf for Low HP, Critical Resistance dependent Goalkeepers
For goalkeepers, like Isillia, Black Tortoise, they depend mainly on critical resistance to survive with their low HP.
So, if you are using Isillia or Black Tortoise, I am not sure if you can remove Nerua.
Implication #3, Rise from the dead (Hiro/Beatrice)
Lets not forget, the birth of Nerua cancer led to the death of Hiro/Beatrice in PvP and the rise of Ravian/Sharr.
Nerua still brings about that 30% damage reduction from WW and Light players which might be useful in both PvE and PvP.
You can still use her as a slot-in player in PvP, against hiro/beatrice.
Removal of Nerua might bring Hiro and Beatrice back to life.
Implication #4, Nerf of Kei
As Kei has low critical resistance, he depends on raklet and nerua for critical resistance totem.
The nerf of nerua is akin to an indirect nerf of Kei HP or Kei critical resistance.
Same goes for all other GKs but kei is one of the most affected since many people are still using Kei.
Time to build a new GK, kei users ~!!
So how should we view this Nerua nerf? Is it really a Nerua nerf? Or a GK nerf?
Overall, we can view his Nerua nerf as a move by Bigball to nerf the critical resistance meta.
We can also view it as an attempt by Bigball to revive Hiro and Beatrice by nerfing Nerua so less people will use her.
Is this favoritism for Thunder? Maybe, but unlikely to be the intentions of the nerf.
So will people still be using Nerua?
To not use Nerua will mean to replace Nerua with another player.
And to replace a pivotal backline player right away might not be an easy task.
For people to replace Nerua, what they need is a better option
So, what are our options?
People might replace Nerua eventually but it will take time for Nerua to go away and become Mono-Thunder or for thunder GK only.
Now for the final question - Should you recall Nerua?
There is no better or another critical resistance totem available at the moment except Raklet.
Hence, critical resistance dependent GK users have to keep her there or risk being critted upon and OHKO by enemy strikers.
But if a better critical resistance totem comes along, people who kept Nerua will miss the chance of recalling Nerua for a fspu Sho-Sho.
So its a matter of how long after the recall of Nerua will a new OP critical resistance totem be released?
Or will it be released at all? Given Bigball intentions of nerfing the critical resistance meta (just look at Shura skills etc.)

For goalkeepers, like Isillia, Black Tortoise, they depend mainly on critical resistance to survive with their low HP.
- A critical hit could mean a OHKO for them from strikers with high penetration power.
Therefore, Critical resistance is their sole means of survival in PvP. - And the only available critical resistance totems are Raklet & Nerua.
Removing Nerua will mean reducing the critical resistance of these goalkeepers by 30%.
And this 30%, can mean life and death for these goalkeepers.
So, if you are using Isillia or Black Tortoise, I am not sure if you can remove Nerua.
- But if you do not remove nerua, your BT or Isillia will get a HP nerf.
- Even if you do replace nerua with another HP totem, you will probably get a slight increase in HP
(Because Nerua currently provides 20% HP buff)
But that 30% crit resist drop might prove fatal.

- As there are no other critical resistance totem on the market, there are not much other better options.
The closest that comes to a critical resistance totem will be silk but she needs to move first before enemy frontline to cast her active. - Without other critical resistance totem, our only options will be to revert to the old paths >> HP totems.
Magnus, Kiki etc comes to mind.

To recall Nerua or not >>> Its your call =)
