Developer Notes for 24th May 2017 Major Update Soccer Spirit
Source: docs.google.com/document/d/19DH6mhW_-XIapL4vQy_Olx2gC324NG6XIM-fN8Rw-TE/preview
Greetings from the Soccer Spirits Development Team!
It feels like just yesterday that we said hello for the 1,000 day celebration and 3 year anniversary stream, and now the 3rd birthday of Soccer Spirits is right around the corner!
This is a special occasion, and we couldn't let it fly by without putting out another Developer's Note.
Let us begin with the Developer's Note for the major update that is scheduled for May 24th (estimated).
(Please note that this has been written during development and details may change with the actual update. For more detailed information, please refer to the patch notes we will release before the actual update.)
[Galaxy Live]
We have our very first champions of the Universe League!
“천랑” from the Korea Server, “setyadi” from the Global Server, and “Kiss” from the Galaxy Server. Congratulations on your achievement!
We must ask, of the three, who is the strongest?
We may never know because they play on different servers. But what if there was a way?
So here we are. Galaxy Live will be a real-time PvP game content where the users of all servers will be matched and after the beta phase, it has now been added as a regular content.
<Galaxy Live has been officially released! We will see some huge changes made to the Expedition menu!>
Galaxy Live will now be officially released after the long beta test which started last December. Galaxy Live was made for those that feel the urge to go head to head against stronger users and the matchmaking will take place by putting all servers in a single pool.
This means that a user from the Galaxy Server can play against a user from the Global Server. However, the rankings will be tallied and ranking rewards will be given separately for each server.
The Friendly Match will only match users from the same servers.
You can freely use other in-game features while queuing up for a Galaxy Live match.
With Galaxy Live becoming a regular content, Player Ban mode will be the default mode for Galaxy Live. During the beta, only 2 players could be banned from the match, but we’ve added a new layer of strategy by adding a Ban Defense System. Each user will select 1 player that cannot be banned from the match before moving on to banning players. In short, the ban phase will go as the following.
Select a deck > Pick 1 player you don’t want to be banned (your opponent can’t ban the player you selected) > Ban 2 players > Recompose your deck > Start the match
Because of the nature of being an online real-time PvP content, there will be issues of latency in the Galaxy Live. Because of this, we will be introducing a new Environment named “Heat of the Crowd”. The "Heat of the Crowd" is an effect that increases the damage that all players inflict for every designated period.
For the ranking rewards of the Galaxy Live, we will be giving out Soccer Ball Skins. Soccer Ball Skins will be a newly added system that is similar to Club Suits. The Soccer Ball Skin will change how the soccer ball looks when the player equipped with the Soccer Ball Skin holds the ball. More details will be made available in the upcoming patch note.
<The newly added Soccer Ball Skin. 2 Soccer Ball Skins will be available at the beginning.>
[Colosseum of Infinity]
For the 3rd year anniversary of Soccer Spirits, we decided to add the 3rd Colosseum: the Colosseum of Infinity.
The Colosseum of Infinity is a survival mode type PvE content where the remaining HP of your players will carry on to the next match.
There is no final stage in the Colosseum of Infinity and your opponents will be selected randomly for every match. Once you start a match with a deck you assembled, you will have to finish the run without making any modifications and you will not be able to get help from your Friends or Substitute Players. Only the Support Players are an exception: you can replace them and their HP will recover after a match ends.
This is a new game mode where managing the HP of your players is more important than clearing each match. There are a few ways that will be available to help you manage it, but we will get to those when we release the patch notes.
<How the Colosseum of Infinity looks. We look forward to the many epic matches that will be played in this place.>
[Chain System Renewal]
The Chain System may be a content that requires a lot of time to complete, but we believe it’s a good system overall as it provides good rewards, allows you to think about your deck, and provides interesting stories. However, there clearly are some downsides to this and they are:
1. It is difficult to add the new players into the chains of older players.
2. There are some stats that are not meaningful to certain classes depending on the Chain.
3. The Chain of some players are not evenly spread.
We plan to renew the Chain System to fix these downsides. To give you an abstract idea, we will be changing the Chain System so that the Chain will be divided to Main Chains and Sub-Chains.
<The New Chain System UI>
The Chain System is consisted of Affection, Friendship, Competition (Old: Rival), and Fighting Spirit (Old: Nemesis). The Main Chains will be the basic Chains that you're familiar with and the Sub-Chains will be Chains that can be expanded whenever a new player is added. The Chains will be applied per class, unlike before.

You will be receiving a small amount of Crystal reward every time you complete a Chain of each type. And when you complete all Main Chains, there will be a special dialogue scene with a Dimension Stone reward.
For now, the dialogue scene will be added for Legendary Players only with 2 updates.
With the following updates, we will add the dialogue events for the 5★ players.
All Chains will be reset with the renewal. Unfortunately, the Dimension Stone reward will not be given twice. Please note that the users that have collected the Dimension Stone reward will only be receiving the Crystal reward.
[New Legendary Players]
Nabi (Ardor) and Miri (Whirlwind) are the new Legendary Players that will be joining the Galaxy League.
<Nabi, the new Ardor Legendary Player. The bubble gum adds more color to the character.>
Nabi was a genius when it came to soccer. She could find no worthy adversary in the middle school league, so she retired. But her passion fired up once again when Ingram introduced her to the Galaxy League and she announced her return to the soccer scene.
She is the first Forward Pass Assister to be a Legendary Player. We will see if this once soccer prodigy still has the game in her.
<Miri, the new Whirlwind Legendary Player. Let's take a moment to appreciate the autumn colors.>
Miri is the direct heir of the Dragon King, whose lineage was believed to have ended.
Miri possesses the incredible power to control weather and is the first Legendary Striker to join team Whirlwind.
Let's see how this free soul will fit in the Galaxy League.
[Shop Renewal]
The Shop was designed in a quite complex way, which is why we plan to make things more convenient.
We will be grouping the features that cost Crystals into the Crystal Store and will also be moving the following items from the Dimension Shop to the Crystal Store; Littre - Evolved, Power-up Transfer Ticket, and Gold Buffs.
In addition, a new item called, "Amplified Power-up Transfer Ticket" will be added to the Crystal Store.
At the Dimension Shop, the Dimension Stone Cost for 5★ New Star Player Selective Ticket, 5★ Classic Star Player Selective Ticket, 4★ Rare Spirit Stone Selective Ticket, and 5★ Manager Selective Ticket will be adjusted more reasonably.
[5 New Unique Spirit Stones]
5 New Unique Spirit Stones will be added with this update.
From the left, the new Unique Stones are "Crystalized Crimson Jade" (Ardor). "Frozen Speartip" (Thunder), "Wind Caller" (Whirlwind), "Judgment Radiance" (Light), and "Ample From Kanrau" (Dark).
The specifics of the Unique Spirit Stones will be revealed in the patch note.
<How will the users respond to the 5 new Unique Spirit Stones?>
[Balancing]
There will be changes made to the cooldowns of Shoot and Block Active Skills. Shoot type Active Skills with a 12 min. cooldown will have reduced cooldowns and Block type Active Skills will have shorter cooldowns to match the shorter cooldowns of Shoot type Active Skills.
Long-range Shoot type Active Skills will have lower Spirit Costs and shorter cooldowns.
Also, changes will be made so that when it has been blocked by the goalkeeper, the ball will bounce back to the ally forward line.
For the AI, we will be making changes so that the AI will also consider the activation type skills on top of the Long-range Shoot type Active Skills, so that it will make smarter attempts when it is on the offensive.
[Other News]
1. The conditions of the Colosseum of Trials will change periodically.
2. Team Rank will now put the effect of Spirit Stones in consideration and there will be a higher rank than S Rank, which is L Rank.
<L Rank will be newly added.>
3. The main title screen will be changed.
4. Filters such as accomplished Chains or Superb Power-up Lv. will be added to the Formation sorting button.
<More filters will be added to help you manage your decks.>
5. A new server named the "Universe Server" will be added to the game. Users that have been playing in the Japan Server can play in the Universe Server with their existing data.
6. There will be massive gifts and various events to celebrate the major update.
[Ending the Developer's Note]
Over the past 3 years, there has been a lot of changes and we have been there with you, side by side, to experience those changes.
There have been positive changes, negative changes and also interesting ones as well.
We were able to continue and make it this far thanks to the solid support that everybody has sent us.
In hindsight, we have regrets of things that could've been better and things that we could've done better.
But we will not let these regrets hold us back. We will keep moving forward to show our gratitude to your continuing support.
That's all we have prepared for today.
We will see you soon.
Thanks!
