We would like to walk you through the upcoming major update and ask for your opinion through this Developer’s Note. Please note that the details of the update introduced below may change in the actual update.
[Club Match]
The wait is finally over. Club Matches will be introduced to the game in the major update!
When developing this content we focused on making this something that everybody can participate in and enjoy. We didn’t want this to be a high-end content that only a limited number of users would play.
● The 6th team formation slot will now be available. This formation will be a Club Match exclusive formation.
● To participate in a Club Match, you will need a new currency called “Club Balls”, and 1 will be recharged every 12 hours. You can also recharge Club Balls with crystals.
● A Club Match is a 5v5 match where you and 4 other Club Members go against 5 users of an opposing Club. Please note that there will be a cooldown period for each Club Member.
● You may play in auto or manual mode. However your opponents of the Club Match will be played by AI. (Same method as the Galaxy Arena)
● The winning condition of the Club Match is to defeat all 5 players of the opposing team. The winner will enter the next match with the HP status and active skill cooldowns from the previous match.
● The matches will automatically have the weather effect, Abnormal Gravity. The Club Owner may additionally set the weather as one of the following; Soul Grave, Rainy Weather, and Piercing Wind.
● Each season of Club Matches will last 6 weeks and will also have a 2 week pre-season.
● Points will be given out to the individual members and the club itself. Club Masters can use the points assigned to the Club for Club Master Scouts, and the Club Members can use the personal points for Club Personal Scouts. Below is the list of items available.
- Master Scout: Club Member Check-in Reset Ticket (resets the check-in cooldown of all Club Members, enabling them to instantly check in), Unlimited Club Match Member Selection Ticket, All Channel Club Ad Broadcasting Ticket, Club Investment Point Reset Ticket
- Personal Scout: Suit, Suit Power-up Stone(Powering-up Suits will upgrade the stats and give it a fancy frame), All Channel Personal Broadcasting Ticket, Battle Ball Recharger, Club Ball Recharger
● Suits will put a frame on the character card which will be applied to all matches. Suits will also grant bonus stats in Club Matches. (The Lv. 60 card frame will be removed)
● Suits can only be acquired through Personal Scouts and can be upgraded with Suit Power-up Stones.
[Renewed Draw System]
As new players continue to be added and the player pool becomes larger, it becomes harder to nail the draw you actually want. Also, we feel that the current Ensured Draw does not provide enough compensation and therefore we are planning a renewal of the draw system.
● The Event Draw will be modified and a new draw method named Attribute Draw will be included.
● Renewed Event Draw - Weekdays: no specific bonus draw rate on any player, Weekends: a significant bonus will be given to the draw rate of certain characters (current system)
● Attribute Draw - Weekdays: draw players with the Attribute of the Elemental that appears in the Elemental Match of the day. Weekends: no Attribute Draw will be available.
● Legendary Players will not be available via Attribute Draws and the rate of getting 5★ players will be lower than the Event Draw.
● Free Draw and Premium Draw Tickets can only be used in Event Draws.
● Ensured Draw will be removed from the game and instead, a Season Mileage System will be added. (The progress rate for the Ensured Draw will be transferred to Season Mileage.)
● The progress rate for the Season Mileage will go up whenever you perform an Event Draw or Attribute Draw, regardless of acquiring a 5★ or higher player. You will be able to perform a guaranteed draw among the following categories according to the mileage you’ve accumulated: Season 1 5-6★ player, Season 1+2 5-6★ player, Season 2 5-6★ player.
● The mileage will be deducted when you perform the guaranteed draw.
● The mileage will also accumulate with Free Draws and Premium tickets. The current requirements are as follows: Season 1 5-6★ Player (requires 50 times), Season 1+2 5-6★ Player (requires 150 times), Season 2 5-6★ Player (requires 500 times)
[Goalkeeper Category and Role Renewal]
● Breaking out from the Defender category, Goalkeepers will be receiving a separate category.
● The Player Role bonus has been modified, with Attackers now receiving a more practical bonus.
● We will be providing a detailed explanation through the patch note.
[Spirit Stone Power-up System Modification]
● You no longer have to continuously tap the Power-up Button. You can set a Power-up goal and let the game auto Power-up until that set goal is reached.
● The Power-up rates will be the same as normal Power-ups and will not require any additional costs.
● Additionally, the number of Neris required for the Guaranteed Power-up will be decreased greatly. (Neris already used for Guaranteed Power-ups will not be refunded.)
[Character Recall System Modification]
The Character Recall System was first introduced to mitigate the inconveniences caused by character balancing patches significant enough to change the value of a character. This has now become a unique system for Soccer Spirits, but we feel it needs some changes. We intended the system to be a form of reward and never to be an event. We would like to modify the system for it to provide higher risks and returns.
● Sho Sho will no longer be given out as Recall rewards. You may use the Sho Sho you’ve already received whenever you want.
● In the modified system, you will be able to exchange the recallable character with another character that has the same grade, role, and belongs to the same Season. (Players from lower Seasons are also selectable.)
● When you select a character from the exchangeable character list, all recallable characters in possession will be changed to the selected character, and all character growth related status will be transferred as well.
● The criteria for becoming a recallable character will be readjusted. Legendary and Special players (such as bosses and rivals) will be excluded, and the new criteria will require a bigger value loss for the character to be selected for a recall. We will go through the details in a separate notice.
[Match System Modification]
● Cooperative Defense System will be implemented. Cooperative Defense will activate based on the character’s Defense stats. When activated, adjacent players positioned in the same line will join to spread out the damage received. This new system is designed to tone down the one-shot meta of the game.
● The mechanics for Long Passes and Forward Passes will be modified. You can select the ally player that will receive the Long Pass or Forward Pass, but the player that receives the pass will not be able to instantly make an action. The Pass Effect will not disappear until the receiver makes an action. The skill effects for Long Passes and Forward Passes will be going through overhaul for this change.
● We will be putting a limit to the Action Bar Recovery/Reduction to prevent balancing issues caused by extreme usage of such skill effects in both PvP and PvE content. Only the highest value will be applied for the “start with X% action bar” type skills/Spirit Stones and the Action Bar Recovery/Reduction amount coming from passive skills will be limited as the following: 80% for Recovery and 20% for Reduction.
● Action Speed Increase/Decrease effect will be limited. This limitation comes from the same logic with the limitation of Action Bar related effects. Based on the default action speed, parameters will be set for the limitation that will be applied to the increases/decreases brought by skills and Spirit Stones.
● The effect of Penetration will be modified. Currently Penetration has a strong effect and is easy to set up. Penetration will no longer decrease the opponent’s Defense and will only decrease the opponent’s damage mitigation effects.
● The activation mechanics for Counterattack Resistance will change. This change has been implemented to resolve the issue of the Counterattack Resistance stat of the player with the smaller Reflex becoming virtually meaningless when there is a large Reflex gap between the two players.
[Game Improvements]
● Graphic effects indicating the different Weathers will be added to the game.
● You can now sort by Player/Manager/Material. You no longer have to swim through the Swirlies to get to the player you want.
● You may position supporters in Formation No. 1 through 4. You can use all team formations in the Galaxy League and the Club Match.
● If the Club Owner hasn’t logged in for a long time, the Club Member with the highest contribution will automatically become the next Club Owner.
● You may now report users for comments for foul language and advertisement. Players that have received a certain number of reports will be limited from chat for a fixed time.
[Bug Fixes]
● 20 bug fixes will take place.
We would like to apologize for the sudden image modifications that were applied via the update on Feb. 24th and would like to explain why this happened. The images were being modified to pass the rating criteria of China and Japan. Main or major characters were modified with the help of the illustrators and characters that were minor or had low rarity were modified by the development team. During this process, the development team received a warning by the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea on Feb 22nd because the images were too profane for the rating of 12+. Modifications had to be made quickly in order to prevent the game from being shut down, so we weren’t able to send out a notice about the modifications in advance. We apologize for not being able to notify in advance and for the inconveniences that the users abroad have experienced. We also apologize for some of the modifications resulting in a quality decrease and would like to assure you that this will be fixed. We assure you that we will do everything we can to prevent situations like this from happening in the future.
The Development team feels that there is still room for improvement for Soccer Spirits after almost 2 years of development. We will do our best to make Soccer Spirits a better game. Please expect to see this in our next major update! We are open to hear from you about the coming update, and feel free to leave any comments about it.
