Hello all, we will be doing a major revamp of the goalkeepers' tier ratings.
Our goal is to revise the goalkeepers' tier ratings to reflect the current PvP & PvE meta, as accurately as possible.
In the process, we will explain our rationales and the current PvP & PvE environment surrounding the revised goalkeepers' ratings.
It has taken some time for us to revise the ratings.
But this time was necessary for us to observe how each goalkeeper works in CoD/PvP with different formations and strategies.
This has allowed us to devise ratings with higher accuracy.
The current ratings are still very raw and requires much polishing.

First, we will revise the PvP goalkeeper ratings.
Old/Previous Ratings:
PvP Back-line considered:
The front-line meta is created to counter the PvP backline meta.
Because when the GK has close to no damage reduction, penetration power is no longer necessary to do high damage to the GK.

Similarly, even if you cannot crit enemy GK, if you can do high non crit damage to enemy GK, you can still win the match.
And if you could crit enemy GK that has close to no damage reduction, imagine the damage your striker could do.
Unique of choice for PvP GKs?
Assuming you could reroll substats, the best unique in order will be:
This is in consideration with the use of duran in backline as mentioned above.
The higher the DR of the GK, the greater the usefulness of penetration power debuff from Duran.
In contrary, if you used dense magma with duran but with ~20% lower damage reduction as compared to having PoME, the effectiveness of the increased penetration power debuff is much reduced by the loss of DR, especially against the current Elaine + EBM + ardor critical damage stone meta.
This is tried and tested. You can have 20% more penetration power debuff but if you lose that 20% DR, your GK DR might be reduced to nothingness by enemy frontline and the penetration power debuff becomes worthless.
New PvP/PvE Ratings:
Some Explanations on the PvP ratings for specific GKs:
Revised PvE Goalkeeper Ratings (Season 5 CoD)
It was tough to revise the PvE ratings for the goalkeepers.
There was a need to observe the strategies for CoD out there and how every GK perform up to CoD 55.
Certainly, the information collected are still insufficient but a general concept can be devised for the ratings.
Some GKs will require stone slot attribute reroll to be relevant. Such as kei, erica etc.
If you find that a certain GK is not working, it would be better to ask and make sure you got the correct stone build or the backline setup.
Any S- GK should be able to get you up to CoD 55 with some problems (match starting action bar RNG etc).
The current ratings are still very raw and requires much polishing.

- Silk / Alice (Critical Resistance/Rate debuff as key feature)
- Both can co-exist to create a 250% critical resist GK with 25% penetration power debuff

- Introduction of ardor critical damage stones
- Elaine has a frontline totem
- Endless Burning Matter (Unique)

- Basically reduces low damage reduction (DR) GKs to NO damage reduction GKs

- Star Tears (15% heal + your own GK 15% heal if any) with 15%+ damage reduction substat
- Ermaltion (25% HP) with 15%+ damage reduction substat
- Protection of Mother Earth (20% damage reduction) with 15%+ damage reduction substat
For GKs with low damage reduction, PoME with high DR substat will be #1 instead.
But for GKs with already high DR without PoME, the effectiveness of DR is reduced due to the multiplicative way of calculating DR.

- Angela/BT are the best PvP GK atm with high DR, strong against the damage inflicted increase meta.
- Isillia comes a close 2nd but DR drops off after 20th minute which is common in PvP or club battles.
- 3rd would be the GK with high critical resistance but lower DR and vulnerable to enemy frontline meta such as Lucian, Jin.
It will be common to see Lucian DR dropped to 10+% with elaine active/ebm and enemy striker equipped with ardor crit. damage stones
This is why Lucian PvP ratings have dropped from S to A+.
However, these GK ability to resist critical shots will set them apart from the A rating GKs.
Revised PvE Goalkeeper Ratings (Season 5 CoD)

There was a need to observe the strategies for CoD out there and how every GK perform up to CoD 55.

- The S ratings GK will be those that have high DR and/or heals after being shot at (BT w/ a pass etc)
These GKs do not need high quality backline such as duran and can survive with more common units. - The S- ratings GK will be GK who can survive with duran in backline and tank enemy frontlineAs you can see, there are quite a number of S- ratings GK to choose from.
Some GKs will require stone slot attribute reroll to be relevant. Such as kei, erica etc.
